PEN & INK SKETCH -- ORIGINAL FAIRY ART
Original fairy art and one
of a matched set of two fairy pictures, this pen & ink
sketch was later made into an acrylic based oil painting (1987).
Fairies (or faeries), unicorns and mermaids are symbols that
come from deep within the human mind. This is an early work
(pre 1995) of original fairy art and crosshatching is the
only inking technique used -- later works combine multiple
techniques. A certificate of authenticity, signed by the artist,
is included with purchase.

NOTES:
This is an old piece of fairy art (also known as faery art).
If you look at the close-up of the artwork, you can see a
yellowed part where paper was folded over and it started showing
through. It's old: from 1985. The companion piece of fairy
artwork is in the painting gallery. Because this is one of
two fairy pictures, you might want to consider picking up
both pieces for your art collection!
There is an inscription on this sketch, "To: Shari."
A friend requested a drawing as a wedding present. This piece
of original fairy art was the first one created but I decided
to keep it and sketched something else for Shari. I "think"
it involved a unicorn, but I can't remember <lol>.
One of the very early works. This fae sketch only uses one
inking technique: crosshatching. Later works combine up to
three different techniques in one piece. What can I say? Aubrey
Beardsley made quite an impression on me (he liked to use
two inking techniques in one piece: contourism and stippling).
But this fairy was a quick sketch, so there's just the one
technique involved here :)
