ORIGINAL
OIL PAINTING -- FEMALE FIGURE STUDY
This original oil painting
is actually a female figure study based on a pose in the first
set of nude photos of Madonna (Penthouse, 1985). Of course,
this oil painting is a femal figure study BASED on the photos.
If you want to see Madonna, go get a copy of the magazine
<g>. A certificate of authenticity, signed by the artist,
is included with purchase.

NOTES:
The
image in this original oil painting is based on the first
Madonna (black & white) photographs that appeared in Penthouse
(1985). I wanted to do a female figure study. The pose is
the same, the interpretation is mine :)
I
remember my teacher in Art History (collage) telling the class
about the many artists who have created original oil paintings
of odalisques. I think it was the blend of romance and sexuality
that attracted them to the idea. So many have been painted
it almost seemed like an initiation rite of some sort. Anyway,
I decided to add my name to the list and paint one too. Of
course, the Western idea of harems, etc. have undergone a
slight renovation in the last couple of decades...
This
original oil painting was created in Germany and has been
carried all around the world. No matter how careful you are,
sometimes things happen. Because of this, the paint on one
of the corners of the frame is a little scratched up, but
otherwise it is in really decent shape.
